CINCINNATI CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL

On behalf of the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center TEAM VR, in the Sports Medicine Division, the overarching purpose of the research is to implement and test fully-immersive virtual reality environments to assess sport-specific training improvements. UCSIM has previously developed the sports stadium virtual environments in which the assessments will take place, and in this phase of the project, added interactive soccer, basketball, and volleyball scenarios for student athletes. 

Deliverables

  • Virtual reality software application that integrates with CCHMC TEAM VR custom hardware

  • Application consisting of 5 scenes: Splash, Operator Option Selection, Practice session, Corner Kick, and Cutting Scenario

  • Both Corner Kick and Cutting Scenario scenes will guide test subject to land on physical force plates in the VR lab for data collection
