Use Cases

Below are common ways our technologies and resources are utilized. Keep in mind these are but a few ways immersive technology can be implemented, the limit is your imagination!

HEALTH & SAFETY

Training employees in hazardous or high-risk environments can be disruptive, costly, and dangerous to both the worker and the equipment. By developing virtual training modules, workers can safely learn about and interact with the machinery before even being in the same vicinity. This creates a secure environment that prepares them for any obstacles they may face along the way and teach them how to address them in a time and cost efficient manner. At UCSIM, we have partnered with a number of facilities to develop training modules that have ranged from developing empathy, to handling pharmaceuticals, to heavy duty machinery. We are committed to creating the most accurate and effective module possible to ensure businesses can protect their employees and their assets.

OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY

Operational efficiency can be a tremendous challenge for businesses, especially considering that training can take days or weeks and can require the temporary shut down of parts of a facility. A full-time employee must also be pulled away from their daily tasks in order to train the new hires and are thus hindered in their own productivity. Through the development of AR, VR, and 360 video applications, UCSIM can help design a training system that allows for new employees to train on their own time and without the halting of production.

RESEARCH

Research can require a variety of tools and techniques and there are undeniable limitations to it. For instance, cost, location, resources, and extremity of scenario are all factors that can prevent future-forward researchers from acquiring the data they need. UCSIM has had the great honor of working with faculty and scientists from a Research 1 university as well as one of the oldest and most distinguished pediatric hospitals in the nation to develop simulations to help conduct research. Our simulations ranged from tracking the impact of sports injuries, to measuring and strengthening visual responsiveness, to analyzing one's ability to orient oneself in space.

COMMUNITY

We understand that a healthy community fuels innovation. By offering our community access to our resources, we can help celebrate its history and provide people with the tools they need to make their dreams a reality. We believe that cutting-edge technology should be accessible to people from all walks of life and always be used and design with a healthier, safer community in mind.
